Our Story

Our Journey Begins

Rajhans Milk’s journey began on 12 November 1977 with the establishment of the Sangamner Taluka Cooperative Milk Producers and Processing Union Limited under the visionary leadership of Late Shri. Bhausaheb Santuji Thorat. The initiative was rooted in the cooperative movement and aimed at improving the living standards of farmers, landless labourers, small landholders and economically weaker sections of rural society. Rajhans began its journey with approximately 2,000 litres of milk collection per day and 18 cooperative societies. With the collective strength of farmers, milk producers and cooperative societies, the Union created a strong foundation for dairy development in the region. The early journey focused on bringing farmers together, strengthening milk collection and promoting better opportunities for rural communities. Over time, Rajhans expanded its activities from milk collection towards modern dairy farming, milk processing, dairy-product manufacturing and infrastructure development. The establishment of facilities for cooling, transportation and processing further strengthened the organisation’s capabilities. The cooperative approach, farmers’ trust and commitment to quality became the foundation of the Rajhans identity. From its humble beginning in 1977, Rajhans continued to grow with a clear focus on cooperation, farmer welfare, quality and development, laying the foundation for its journey as a trusted name in the dairy sector.
