Rajhans Milk
Rajhans Milk is the brand of Sangamner Taluka Cooperative Milk Producers and Processing Union Limited, established on 12 November 1977 through the vision of the great freedom fighter and cooperative leader Hon. Shri Bhausaheb Santujibha Thorat. The organisation was established with the objective of improving the living standards of farmers, landless labourers, small landholders and economically weaker sections through the cooperative movement. Rajhans began its journey with around 2,000 litres of milk collection per day from 18 cooperative societies. Over the years, the organisation expanded its activities in milk collection, processing, modern animal husbandry, milk cooling, quality management and value-added dairy products. Farmers’ welfare, quality, trust and cooperation have remained at the centre of Rajhans’s development journey. The organisation has introduced modern dairy facilities, open housing sheds, farmer guidance programmes and livestock development initiatives. During drought conditions, fodder camps were also established to support milk-producing farmers and protect livestock.
Rajhans has continuously adopted modern technology and undertaken initiatives for environmental conservation, including tree plantation. Its contribution to the cooperative sector has also received recognition, including the Sahakarnishtha Award from the Government of Maharashtra. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Rajhans continued purchasing milk from farmers, demonstrating its commitment to milk producers.Today, Rajhans Milk has established a distinct identity across Maharashtra and the country. The union collects, processes and sells approximately 400,000 litres of milk every day, continuing its journey of cooperation, quality, farmers’ welfare and sustainable development.
